It was easy deciding to participate in Alex J. Cavanaugh’s TV show Blogfest because I’ve always been an avid television viewer. What wasn’t easy was narrowing the list down to just ten because there are so many others deserving to be recognized. (Why do I suddenly feel like I’m giving away a blog award?)
Anyway, after much angst and internal debate, here’s the ten that made the top of my list. They are listed here in completely random order, and yes, I cheated with the Star Treks. Sue me!!

There was one other show that I had in my list until the very last cut, but ultimately I removed it because technically it didn’t complete one full season. Those of you who’ve seen the show will understand just how much of a colossal mistake FOX made when they cancelled this show! Anyway, even though it didn’t make my top ten, I couldn’t in good conscious upload a post about excellent TV without mentioning it.

Good shows! I cheated with Star Trek as well. (Otherwise it would've sucked up five of my choices.) Plus I had a bonus show. My blogfest, my prerogative!

One of my favorite writing Podcasts (Writing Excuses) repeatadly referes to Joss Weadon as a writing genious! And who can fault Star Trek, eh?OK, lots of people can fault Shatner, but other than that...

BOO where is Seinfeld?

With a sick puppy in need of tending, I spent a lot of time last weekend at home watching the final season of Buffy for the billionth time. I miss that show so much and can't believe that it's been seven years since it ended. The writing was truly amazing.

I don't watch much television anymore, and the absence of shows like Buffy (and the overwhelming prevalence of cop shows) made that choice much easier.

I like 5 & 8 too. I want to see #10. I didn't at the time. But I'll probably have to join Netflix unless I want to buy them.

I love your list. We share many favorites, including Lost, ER, and the original L&O. I put Firefly high up there, too, though.

I love that you clarified which Law and Order for us! I also enjoy SVI. I completely forgot about Buffy. She should at least get an honorable mention on my list! I may have to pull out the DVDs later!

ReplyDeleteI've watched (or am watching - only into season 3 of Buffy) all the shows on your list except for Law and Order. I've seen a few episodes - not my cup of tea. I might replace that with LA Law (I really liked that show, but had problems staying up until 11:00 to watch it when it came on - young mother, full-time worker, tired person!).

I had Cheers on my list too. And I've never sen an epsiode of firefly, but clearly the demand is there to continue the series. I must have seen a dozen lists with Firefly on it today.

I guess I've seen all of the original Star Treks a few times and I've seen a few episodes of Friends, but that's about it. I guess I really need to check out Firefly.

I've said it numerous times already, but I have got to see Firefly now. It's like the sleeper hit of this 'fest. Yes, I expected Star Trek and X-files on a bunch of them, but this one is surprising.
