Nicole at One Significant Moment at a Time recently surpassed the 500 followers milestone and is celebrating with a blogfest designed to bring us together, to get to know each other better. She is accomplishing this by using Bernard Pivot's famous questionnaire and I’m happy to take part in it.
Anyone who's watched Inside the Actor's Studio will be familiar with the questionnaire. The show's host, James Lipton, asks it of every celebrity guest at the close of the interview. The questionnaire was originally created by Bernard Pivot, a French journalist, for the cultural series he hosted on French television from 1991-2001, called Bouillon de Culture. My answers are listed below, but make sure you drop by Nicole’s blog (click on the link above) to see the list of everyone else whose participated.
What is your favorite word? Tolerance
What is your least favorite word? Ignorance
What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? Music is my one constant when it comes to getting me revved up, mellowed out, or inspired. Whenever I need a change in direction, music shows me the way.
What turns you off? Politics…with a passion!
What is your favorite curse word? It’s actually a phrase. Shit the Bed!
What sound or noise do you love? Unrestrained laughter.
What sound or noise do you hate? A crying child.
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? I’m going to go against the grain here and not say being a full-time writer (too obvious). So, how about Ski Instructor.
What profession would you not like to do? IRS Tax Auditor.
If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? Hammons, party of one…right this way. :)

ReplyDeleteGross. So gross. Shit the bed! I hate it. Hate it! Hate it more than politics!
ReplyDeleteMusic...right on! Politics...just as right on! I think we have a lot of the same views. AND um..sh!t the bed. Hahhah....
ReplyDeleteShit the bed. Hammons party of one.
ReplyDeleteThis blogfest officially rocks.
I love the favorite curse word! Too funny.
ReplyDeleteShit the bed is my new favorite curse words now! Can't wait to try it out, LOL. And I'll bet your reason behind not wanting to be a ski instructor has to do with hating cold weather, yes?
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along!!
I would like the word tolerance more if it weren't use by some with so much ignorance. Like in that Ban commercial where people are unrolling a sign that says "Ban Intolerance."
ReplyDeleteHow very . . . uh-hm . . . tolerant of them. :)
"SOMEONE SHIT ON THE COATS!"
ReplyDeleteLMAO!!
I love this.
Ahh, shit the bed. There's a phrase I recognize. :)
ReplyDeleteParty of one? With music, I assume. :D
ReplyDeleteLOL, IRS tax collector! *wipes eyes* Yeah, I'd hate that too.
ReplyDeleteTolerance is a lovely word, and an even lovelier idea.
"Shit the bed" is pretty nasty. I'll have to try it out sometime :)

ReplyDeleteBhahaha SHIT THE BED! NICE.
ReplyDeleteCan you please use it in a sentence?
Party of one....love that! I also love your curse phrase. Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteOh, your curse word/phrase is much better than mine. It's now my favorite. I'm stealing it.
ReplyDeleteAnd politics does suck. I didn't even think of that.
Music does it for me too. (My answer for tht same question, in fact).
You're awesome. Thanks for providing me with some new vocabulary :)
Great list. Your original #8 is the same as mine.
ReplyDeleteShit the bed? Never heard that one before! There was plenty of unrestrained laughter going on on my end. Great answers, DL!
ReplyDeleteOh come on, you wouldn't really want to be there alone, would you? ;) I also love music. Fun answers!
ReplyDeleteok... your curse phrase is HILARIOUS and i'm not sure i can keep myself from saying this from now on.... though it sounds a little like a command..?? lol
ReplyDeletepolitics are MAJOR ICKY
So funny, I love music too. And "party of one" LOL...
ReplyDeleteYour curse word/phrase is hilarious and a little gross!
ReplyDeleteWise answers. I think a lot of us are inspired by music.

Tossing It Out
"party of one" ... loved it!
ReplyDeleteomg, yes. The crying child. And IRS auditor, no doubt. We all love music... no surprise there. And your #1 and #2 rhyme... :D <3
ReplyDeleteI love that your favorite and least favorite words mean something. Ew, tax auditor. No fun.
ReplyDeleteShit the bed?! lol. You've now started a trend, it appears.
ReplyDeleteski instructor would be a great job.
I'm your newest follower.
Shit the Bed!? OMG I snorted tea out of my nose. "Party of one" classic. ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat answers.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to join the chorus, 'Shit the bed'?
Good answers, DL. And as usual, the entertainment value is high. :-)
ReplyDeleteyay for politics-hate! and sadly enough, my dad's an IRS Tax Editor. Well, something like that anyway. :D
ReplyDeleteGreat answers. Twisted. I like it.
ReplyDeleteI'm on the same wavelength as it pertains to music being a means of inspiration.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I am a fellow crusader, and I *thought* I already followed your blog, but I do for sure now! :)
ReplyDeleteTolerance and music are great calls. If you are looking for a little variation I use shite-at-height - it would go well with your theme ;)
ReplyDelete'Shit the bed' I lol'd at that one. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL. You do make me laugh. A IRS Tax Auditor - must be the most unpopular job ever! And as for shit the bed...
ReplyDeleteBernard Pivot Blogfest
Shit the bed... that's a new one for me.
ReplyDeleteAwesome.
Love your swear phrase! The imagery!
ReplyDeleteI love *Shit the Bed*. Are you from back East? That's terrific! I am with you on politics too. Instant turn off.

I have never heard that curse phrase before. Boy, I’m learning a lot on this blogfest.
ReplyDeleteOh how I HATE the sound of crying children! Which makes it a little weird that I spend my summers working with little kids... I do love them the 90% of the time they're NOT throwing tantrums!
ReplyDeleteLove the sound of uncontrollable laughter! Perfect!
ReplyDeleteAnd the profession I said I would HATE is a politician - so I think we match pretty well in that department! :)
Politics...get a rope. Nothing will rune a good conversation as fast as politics.
ReplyDeleteSeeing as how I live with a musician, I agree music is very inspiring.
I am glad to meet you,
Pamela Jo

Okay, I'm adopting shit the bed, too. I only curse when I'm angry, and I'm pretty sure this phrase will take the edge off.
ReplyDeleteThis made me laugh! I have heard some pretty creative curses in my time but my mind has become so pure that I can't remember any of them. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove your favorite and least favorite words! And your curse phrase, of course :)
ReplyDeleteEveryone has such good answers for the job they wouldn't want to do, but tax auditor would be right up toward the top of my list too.
ReplyDeleteThese are great. Your favorite and least favorite words, especially!
ReplyDeleteUnrestrained laughter - you can't beat it!
ReplyDeleteEgh! Politics! Yeah, that's a pretty bad one. I go out of my way to avoid reading the news, and expect the major events will trickle through in conversation. That way I can keep all the national crap as far away from me as possible.
ReplyDeleteAnd while I want to ask questions about the semantics of "shit the bed" (which, I agree, is hilarious), I think it makes me sound like a creepy weirdo, so I'm going to restrain myself. :/
IRS Tax Auditor - oh my! I have this great picture of three types of terrorists: Middle Eastern, Irish and American. Guess what the American terrorist is? Yup, a guy in a suit with a briefcase that says "IRS"
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't want to be a taxman either.
ReplyDeleteNice short answers, love it. Yeah you got the attention you craved with your curse phrase. I can't even write it! Maybe you'll have to rethink before you get to the Pearly Gates and I'm not s*i*tt*n you!
ReplyDeleteDenise:)

My husband says shit the bed too...

ReplyDelete& if i didn't say a writer, my choice would be a dancer! i love to dance, but i wish i had a little more rhythm & muscular legs would be awesome!! :P
Hey, fellow crusader!
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by to say hi and follow you :-)
xx Rach
Ski instructor - hey, maybe I can finally learn to ski! I've still never tried it...
ReplyDeleteHey You got a table? I tipped the guy a bottle of scotch and he told me hell hounds are not allowed even as service companions! so not fair....hear that? Thats me revving up a cloud...lets blow this vanilla and ride
ReplyDeletehehehe Wow Poop is very in your zone....even Pooping up in your Politics...grin
