Our twelve WRiTE CLUB slush pile judges have done
their work and we now have 30 pieces of writing that are ready to go toe to toe
in the ring. Before we get the ball rolling tomorrow I wanted to take this
opportunity to thank our judges for doing what can be described as a heart-wrenching
task. Taking 136 samples (over sixty-four thousand words) and narrowing that
down to a mere 30…well, it just ain’t easy and ultimately you know that someone
will end up disappointed. But they did it and I wanted to let you know who they
were.

They are all from different
backgrounds, occupy different places in the writing community, but all share a
common passion – a love for good writing. Take a moment a help me thank them
from all of the efforts they’ve volunteered to help make this contest such a
success.
You guys and gals ROCK!

ReplyDeleteOoh - two good creepy openings! But I'll have to go with Marie de France, for the very interesting twist on a fairy tale.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read both as published novels.
Definitely Marie de France for this round! The suspense left me wanting to read more!
